Preparing and Cooking Lobster
Cleaning your lobster
- kill the bug by inserting a sharp knife from the back
top edge of the carapace to between its eyes
- twist the tail off (grab the carapace with one hand
and the tail with the other and twist)
- with a sharp knife, carefully cut around the
anus
- pull the digestive tract out of the tail
Cooking methods
- Boiling
- Microwaving
- BBQing (broiling)
- split the tail lengthwise, vertically
- place the split tail on the grill shell side down
(shell toward the heat)
- cook until the meat start to get white and
puffy
- flip the tail meat side down for a minute or two
(meat toward the heat)
- Steaming
