Putting back a "Short"

If you measured an ab with your gauge and it's too small:

• dive back down to the bottom
• find a crack
• wedge the ab into the crack
  

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Always make sure the ab has adhered to the rock.
Any abalone on its back is a sitting duck for lingcod, cabazone, seal, etc.
